February, 2005 EHGW sponsors deer contraception lecture by Dr. Irwin Liu, from UCDavis who developed the longest lasting contraception vaccine for wildlife


February, 2006 EHGW sponsors presentation on methods for counting deer by reknown wildlife biologist, Frank Verret

March-April, 2006 EHGW sponsors one of first ever scientific deer counts in New York State for Town of East Hampton

October, 2006 EHGW submits "White-tailed Deer Population Estimates in the Town of East Hampton, New York to the Town Board. Copies placed in all town libraries

July, 2006 and 2007 Co-sponsored with the Humane Society of the United States protests of Montauk shark tournaments


January, 2008 EHGW sponsors installation of roadside reflectors along a 0.6 mile test site on Stephen Hands Path


First Monday in January, 2009 Bill and Ellen Crain with support from members of EHGW start 3-day hunger strike to protest the opening of shotgun season for deer

October, 2009 EHGW partners with EECO Farm to enclose vegetable plots and avoid application by EECO Farm for a nuisance permit to kill deer

October, 2009 on Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, EHGW sponsors Honor the Animals celebration in East Hampton town

December, 2009 EHGW vigorously opposes new town rule to allow turkey hunting, noting turkeys are the biggest consumer of ticks in Suffolk County

May 17, 2011 Ellen Crain gave invited presentation, on behalf of EHGW, on deer contraception. Bill Crain presented pilot contraception project proposal to Town Board for their consideration.

June, 2011 EHGW sponsors protest of first shark tournament of the season at Star Island Marina

October, 2011 Ron Delsener organized campaign to fund installation of another Town Board approved half mile of roadside reflectors on Stephen Hands Path. With help of Highway Department, EHGW expanded study of effectiveness of reflectors in reducing deer-vehicle collisions.
